Limpkins at the pond. (three photos)

Hello!

I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I did taking them. Limpkins are beautiful and fun to watch!

The tip of the bill usually curves slightly to the right, which may help in removing snail from curved shell.

The bill also usually has a slight gap just behind the tips of the mandibles, which may help in carrying and manipulating the snails.

    What an interesting fact about their bills – I see what you mean in the last shot with the bird in the foreground gripping what looks like a rock.
