Hello!
Just a short paddling distance from the Riviera Beach Marina and in the middle of the Port of Palm Beach is Peanut island, a formerly Coast Guard Facility and a secret shelter bunker for John F. Kennedy during the Cold War. Years later, it became Peanut Island after a plan to use it as a terminal for shipping peanut oil. In 1946, the plan was abandoned but the name stayed.

I took an ESOL class to tour the JFK bunker back in the 90’s.
